Second day blues
Today was a bit of a rough one. I enjoyed my breakfast thoroughly, Fage full fat Greek yogurt (dairy again!), with maple syrup and pumpkin seeds. But then internet searches of products I can eat came up with conflicting answers. And last night’s Thai was not compliant since you can’t make good peanut noodles without lime juice and green curry sauce (which also has lime). I thought I could head to Great Harvest and get bread since it is freshly milled. But I went at a busy time and my allergy questions weren’t exactly convenient nor fully answered. And then I got flustered by the line amassing behind me and just picked two without thinking at all. One was the sample of the day and so amazing that after I read the ingredients and realized that I had messed up royally, I decided I didn’t care anymore and just wanted to eat the amazing bread. And ate half the dang loaf. And then wS subsequently grumpy, impatient, and foggy-headed with itchy toes. Grr. So I got back on the bandwagon for dinner. Black bean and rice soup with minor substitutions (butter for olive oil, rice vinegar for lemon ðŸ˜). I tried a new recipe since my normal Friday soup (lentil with potato) was verboten because of all the bread I stuffed myself with earlier.
So still a bit overwhelmed and bummed out at my loss of wine, lemon and lime, coconut milk, and even the thought of the peach truck and strawberry shortcake this June. Perhaps feeling better will weigh more heavily than the loss later on. Time will tell.
This weekend is for a bit of research: body products, label reading, sharing my supplements and things with others who can still eat/drink them. The first grocery trip should be interesting. I did already discover that our Simple Truth peanut butter seems to be okay. Just peanuts and sea salt (iodized is a no no, so have to look for that too). Let the lists begin...
